Our weekend in Church Stretton began with what has become a customary get-together in a local pub. Later we all met up in the Bucks Inn for a meal. We knew the weather for our walk on Saturday was not in our favour but we had come well equipped.
We met at Carding Mill Valley Visitor Centre and headed off into the hills ably lead by David. The stream coming down the hillside was in spate but we managed to cross it and we headed further up the footpath. We all got very wet but this seemed to add to the fun. Crossing the various streams had become a bit of a challenge that added excitement to the walk.
At the end of the walk we had hot drinks and cake at the visitor centre. The heat from the roaring log burner was just what we needed to dry off at the end of our 6 mile walk. We convened again in the evening for another meal this time in the Kings Arm where later we enjoyed a game of charades.
Thanks go to Faine and Michele for the photographs.
